A pickleball court only requires a fraction of the space of a tennis court, making it an attractive and accessible option to have in the family home. Some clubs may also consider repurposing tennis court space to Pickleball or Padel courts allowing them to offer a wider range of sports to their clientele.
Pickleball court dimensions: 44 feet (13.41m) long and 20 feet (6.09m) across.
Additional space is then required for safety and for run-off.

How long it takes to install a pickleball court very much depends on the size and scope of the project. It will likely take around six weeks to build. When we get started on your project we will share timescales that we endeavour to stick to. If unplanned issues, such as the weather, are going to disrupt your build, we’ll be the first to let you know and will share an timeline for you.

Yes, you can transform a tennis court into a number of pickleball courts. Some clubs and commercial facilities do this to attract more people to a venue. If you want to explore this idea, please contact our team.
We take huge pride in the standard and quality of our craftsmanship. For our clients who opt for our Savanna surface, this can result in a high quality court that can last indefinitely when used in a home setting (with proper care and maintenance). In commercial setting they can last as long as 18 years. Different surface types, and how much play the court receives, along with how well a court is maintained will ultimately determine the lifespan. You can speak with our friendly team to find out more.
If we consider planning permissions for tennis courts as an example, in normal circumstances, you will not require planning permission if the pickleball pitch is installed in your garden behind a house.
If we look at the planning rules tennis courts come under, which are specifically mentioned in the general rules for outbuildings, they state that an enclosure below a height of three metres does not require planning consent.
There are eight reasons why you would need planning permission for a court, however.
