How much does it cost to build a tennis court?

Tennis Court  Construction Costs and prices

We offer great quality tennis courts at competitive prices, backed up by over 100 years of experience for use in both homes and clubs.  We are completely upfront and transparent about the price of the tennis courts that we build.

Constructing a tennis court is not as simple as might be imagined. It is not a job for a local builder. A tennis court built to the minimum LTA-approved specification will include about 300 tonnes of high-quality construction material.

It will also involve a minimum of 14 lorry loads of material delivered to your site. Typically, construction will take more than a month.

Our prices include the supply and fitting of a turnkey post and net. When you initially contact us, we’ll discuss your specific requirements, and we can give you a rough estimate of costs and will arrange a free site visit to give you an accurate quote and timeframes.

Our highly experienced team will be happy to discuss your requirements and budget, and provide you with a free site visit and a quote.

Factors that influence tennis court construction costs

There are many factors that will influence the cost of building a tennis court. Some of which can include:

Site Preparation and Groundworks

This is a big part of constructing a tennis court. Making sure that the site is prepared fully, ensuring it's flat and stable is very important. This often means levelling and the excavation of materials. Heavy machinery and good access levels are needed in order to get as close as possible to the new court site. Poor access doesn't mean a job is not possible, but instead, can influence costs.

The Tennis Court Surface

The type of surface for your tennis court will play a part in the overall cost of your tennis court, with some surface types costing more than others. Not only that, but there are foundation / base layers that also need to be laid. This too affects the cost.

Tennis Court Amenities

Amenities your court may need will also need to be factored into costs. For example, LED lighting, specific fencing requirements, drainage (if needed), and security systems may adjust the overall price.

Tennis Court Sizes and Quantities

If you need more than one court, this too will influence the price of constructing your tennis court(s).

ongoing tennis court costs

When considering budgets and costs for your tennis court construction project, it is important to consider other ongoing costs. These can include:

  • Tennis court cleaning: This can include moss and debris removal
  • Tennis court repairs: Minor fixes will be needed to ensure the court is safe and comfortable to play on
  • Tennis court resurfacing: Over time, even the best made court will tire, and resurfacing will be needed

Premium Tennis court construction from en tout cas

From foundations through to fence post finials, our approach is to build a tennis court, for use in your garden or club, that will give years of enjoyment.

You’ll be aware of our commitment to quality; from the moment we visit to discuss your needs and to survey your proposed site. We’ll take care of details, such as making sure that the court will fit the area you have in mind, that it is correctly orientated relative to the sun and that it is located on stable ground. We’ll ensure that tree roots won’t be a problem, and that surface chosen will perform well in the location.

Following these initial decisions, we will recommend the most appropriate surface and submit a specification and estimate for a total design and build contract. There will be no short cuts in material specification, no casual labour and nothing but the very highest standards.

What you will get are UK-sourced materials that are checked and approved by us before they are used. We deploy our own construction teams, each of which is led by a foreman who is a highly experienced specialist in tennis court construction. To reinforce this dedication to quality assurance, our construction manager will make site visits to carry out detailed quality inspection.

As well as tennis court construction we also offer a full resurfacing, cleaning and refurbishment service for tennis courts. We build tennis courts, including synthetic grass surfaces, synthetic clay and hard courts throughout the UK.
